The lemon tree is a delicate evergreen widespread in Mediterranean countries, South America and the United States (mainly California and Florida). It needs warmth and a sheltered spot to grow and produce beautiful citrus fruit. Yellow lemons, the most common, come in several varieties.

The lemon of Menton, a town in the south of France, is honored every year in a festive event called Carnaval de Menton, where floats covered in lemons and citrus fruits parade through the streets.
